Afghan coup

Obiter's occasional competition of 'politicians I have known and been snapped with' is back with an absolute corker.

Alexander Lesser of London firm Kerman & Co was in Afghanistan recently as part of an investigation into the natural resource sector in the war-torn country.

And as part of his trip, he got to meet a politician with surely one of the hardest jobs in the world - Afghanistan's minister of justice, Adbul Rahim Karimi.

It certainly knocks our last entry - shadow chancellor Michael Howard at a tax seminar held by City firm Nicholson Graham & Jones - into something of a cocked hat.
