Alternative Web site aims to make light of the legal world
An 'irreverent' Web site aimed at law students, trainee solicitors and newly qualifieds in the City was launched this week.
The site - rollonfriday.com - is the brainchild of solicitors Piers Warburton and Matthew Rhodes, who have taken time off from City firm Ashurst Morris Crisp to develop it.
Visitors to the site will be able to obtain information and news about larger firms, which Mr Warburton said would often take a 'more light hearted approach' than traditional trade publications.
The site will also provide information about job opportunities and pay ranges for trainees and junior solicitors, a guide to events in and around London, suggestions for gifts, mortgage advice and other things of interest to the younger end of the profession.
Mr Warburton said he intended the site to be 'young, irreverent and a bit cheeky'.
It will be an 'alternative to the corporate Web sites that legal recruiters come up with.
We set out to give young City lawyers the info that they want and to make it fun,' he added.
