It seems to me that the intellectual demands of a lifetime in the law are more likely to increase in the forthcoming decades than they are to decrease.
It is far from clear that the recommendations of the Law Society's training framework review group reflect an understanding of this fact, although I am entirely open-minded on this point.
But it must surely be the case that there is further consultation before the profession embarks on such a major process of change.
