An interactive guide to the different routes of appeal has been included for the first time in the revamped Web site of the Court of Appeal's civil division, launched this month.
The guide is intended to help litigants and their advisers identify the correct court to which their appeal should be made.
Other new features include links to the court's most recent judgments, the British and Irish Legal Information Institute's site, and relevant civil procedure rules and practice directions. It also publishes the daily list of cases before the court.
The site, developed by the Court Service's in-house IT team will also include 'in the near future' an electronic court list containing up-to-date listing arrangements.
Lord Justice Brooke, vice-president of the division, said: 'We are conscious that the workings of the appeal court are not always apparent. This marks a great step forward for court Web sites in this country.'
