Mr Justice Leveson, the deputy senior presiding judge for England and Wales, has been appointed a Lord Justice of Appeal. He replaces Lord Justice Brooke, who will retire on 30 September 2006. Mr Justice Leveson has also been appointed senior presiding judge from 1 January 2007, in succession to Lord Justice Thomas.
