The International Finance Corporation, the private sector arm of the World Bank, has appointed CEDR (the Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution) to help raise awareness in Pakistan of alternative dispute resolution (ADR). The aims of the project are to promote ADR, including mediation, especially among small and medium-sized businesses; to promote a professional cadre of mediators; and to establish a pilot commercial mediation centre in conjunction with the High Court of Sindh.
