Beach babe

Diane Benussi will get something of a reputation as a beach bum in these pages if she's not careful.

Last year, we had her going all hula-hula to mark the new identity of her firm, Benussi & Co, based on the idea of a tropical island representing the successful outcome of a divorce (see [2002] Gazette, 30 August, 10).

Now Ms Benussi, who has since become president of Birmingham Law Society, is at it again in aid of the latest push for Advised in Birmingham, the local legal profession's ongoing effort to promote the city as a centre of legal excellence.

Pictured right enjoying the renowned Costa del Brum, Ms Benussi launched sticks of rock which have 'Advised in Birmingham' running through them.

They are perfect marketing metaphors, indicating that Birmingham's lawyers are tough yet sweet.

'It's a way of saying "wish you were here" to all of those who could conceivably make use of the services of the Birmingham legal sector,' she explained.

And unlike all those postcards you receive from people who are rather glad you're not there, in this case you can be sure they mean it.
