Beat the junk mailers

Should Norman Green ever find he has too much scrap paper arriving through the post (see [2000] Gazette, 28 September, 20), he may be interested to know that under section 11 of the Data Protection Act 1998 he has the right to require anyone to cease using his personal data for direct marketing purposes.

This right can be enforced in the courts should the mailings not stop within a reasonable time.
