Berryman Shacklock collects award for turnover bonanza
A host of Nottinghamshire-based firms were commended by their local law society in its first awards ceremony last week - including fast-growing Berryman Shacklock, which picked up the firm of the year prize for a huge jump in turnover.
Other winners were Young & Pearce senior partner John Pearce - who clinched a lifetime achievement award - and Bhatia Best senior partner Ash Bhatia, who was named solicitor of the year.
Eversheds scooped a prize for its charity work after 90 staff volunteered for the Business in the Community right-to-read programme.
Anne Williams, matrimonial solicitor at Yates & Co, was recognised for her voluntary work with the Citizens Advice Bureau and Women's Aid.
Berryman Shacklock managing partner Andy Matthews said the firm was delighted with the award.
'We have had an extremely positive 12 months, in which our turnover has increased by almost 40%,' he said.
'To be given an award by one's peers is one of the greatest compliments any individual or firm can receive - we are, after all in competition with them and there are some very good lawyers in the county.'
