I have just received notification from the NHS that, provided my Pension Share Order is received by 31 December 2010, the implementation charge will be £393.62, including VAT. If it is received after 1 January 2011, the charge will be £2,760, including VAT.
I calculate this to be a rise of about 700%. Practitioners will clearly have to be on their guard to make sure they do everything in their power to get the appropriate Pension Sharing Orders through and to NHS Pensions before the end of the year. Otherwise I can foresee a lot of unhappy clients.
I understand that these charges are in line with those suggested by the National Association of Pension Funds, in which case practitioners can expect to see a significant rise in all implementation fees.
