Boxing clever

There is nothing Obiter likes more than pictures of minor celebrities, as regular readers will be aware, and so we were naturally excited to receive this picture from Black Country firm Waldrons, featuring former world boxing champion John Conteh to mark its work on a corporate restructuring at IT solutions company BDE Group.

The problem, we found, was that nowhere in the press release did it explain what Mr Conteh had to do with the deal.

So we called and were told, in no uncertain terms, that he had absolutely no involvement.

It just so happened that he was speaking at an event at which all the main players in the deal (from left, David Chinn from accountants Worton Rock, BDE owner Peter Reynolds, and Waldrons' Natalie Gennard) happened to be as well.

So, showing admirable opportunism, Mr Conteh was roped in for this knockout photo.
