Clifford Chance, the world's largest law firm, this week made its much-heralded move out of the City and into Canary Wharf.

The firm said the purpose-built, 30-storey tower - three miles from the City - 'is intended to provide the best client facilities of any law firm in London'.

It has 79 client meeting rooms, 13 top-floor dining rooms, an auditorium for 240 people, and a business centre where clients can book airline tickets.

There is also a lounge for clients to work, shower, or have a drink from a juice bar while they sit and take in the panoramic views across the capital.

London regional managing partner Peter Charlton said: 'We will be the envy of law firms across the world for some time to come.'

The fifth floor is dedicated to 'staff relaxation', with a swimming pool, fitness and treatment centre, aerobics studios, squash courts, in-house cafe, and a restaurant overlooking the Millennium Dome.

The firm is keeping a presence in the City, with a seven-storey office at 4 Coleman Street.

Around 42,000 people now work in Canary Wharf.
