I read with interest the article on recommendations for the introduction of formalised financial obligations between cohabitants (see [2007] Gazette, 16 August, 22). If we also consider Damian Baron's entertaining comment in 'Bride and gloom' (see [2007] Gazette, 19 July, 12), the impious thought occurs that perhaps all family law solicitors should now be advising their wealthy clients to commit to celibacy. On the basis of cohabitation today... tomorrow, who knows?
