Chicago saw a record attendance of 3,880 lawyers, narrowly beating the total of 3,814 set in Prague last year. The previous high was 3,141 delegates in San Francisco in 2003. The IBA will hold its first annual conference in south-east Asia next year, when it arrives in Singapore, and will similarly break new ground in 2008 in Buenos Aires.
