The Law Society has appointed Peter Edwards of Peter Edwards Law, Wirral, to the post of chief assessor to the mental health review tribunal panel and Jessica Wyman of Tyrer Roxburgh & Co, London, to the post of chief assessor to the immigration law panel.

Mr Edwards and Ms Wyman will take leading roles in the selection and training of panel assessors, who mark applications against the Law Society's standards, and be responsible for ensuring the quality and consistency of the assessment processes for initial accreditation and re-accreditation.

The chief assessors will also assist the Society with a review of the schemes and any further developments.
