City Law Partnership joins rush to launch non-legal spin-offs
Corporate niche firm City Law Partnership has joined the rush of firms creating spin-off businesses, launching companies offering company secretarial services and regulatory advice.
Regulatory Solutions will offer financial services regulatory compliance advice to companies.
It will be led by Graeme Davidson, who was head of legal regulatory compliance at The Royal Bank of Scotland Group.
Secretarial Solutions will offer company secretarial services, mainly to clients of Regulatory Solutions.
The two companies have been founded under an umbrella parent company, Advisory Solutions.
City Law has taken on two non-executive directors for this company: Robert Clinton, former head of corporate finance with stockbroker Greig Middleton & Co, and former Arthur Andersen partner Rob Edwards.
Philip Skerret, senior partner of City Law Partnership, said: 'We see regulatory work as a growth area and are keen to build on our experience in this sector'.
Halliwell Landau recently launch- ed an executive compensation and share schemes consultancy, while Beachcroft Wansbroughs has set up a regulatory compliance consultancy.
