CLT grabs witness firm Bond Solon in multi-million deal

Founded in 1992, the company has trained around 40,000 expert and lay witnesses, the majority for City-based firms.

Among Bond Solons customers are Clifford Chance, Simmons & Simmons, Herbert Smith, Ashurst Morris Crisp, Berwin Leighton, Denton Wilde Sapte, Nabarro Nathanson, Taylor Joynson Garrett (TJG), Maxwell Bately and Withers.

Co-founder Mark Solon, who started the company in 1992 with fellow solicitor Catherine Bond and IT and financial expert Ian Beaumont, said CLT had purchased a 75% share in the company.

Mr Solon would not disclose the overall figure paid by CLT, saying it would vary depending on the companys performance over the next three years.

Steve Broome, managing director of CLT, said the company would be working with Bond Solon to ensure all litigators had the opportunity to benefit from witness training.
