Not only am I a grumpy old git (see [2007] Gazette, 26 July, 16), but a cynical one. I would endorse Peter Morgan's letter concerning home information packs (see [2007] Gazette, 6 September, 16), but also, and more importantly, it is patent that the introduction of e-conveyancing is a euphemism for nationalisation of conveyancing and, more sinister than that, the control of the millions generated thereby.


I believe that we are the cheapest providers of conveyancing services in Europe. How, then, can the government justify its action on the grounds of the interests of the consumer?
