I am not persuaded or particularly impressed with the fine living of Mary Connolly, who does not tell us what she had the pleasure of eating at the new restaurant in the converted Marlborough Street Magistrates' Court (see [2005] Gazette, 1 September, 13).
I can assure her that over a period of at least 50 years, over the road from the court and until recently, was a wonderful Italian restaurant, the Bonboniere, which always served very acceptable and modestly priced Italian food.
Furthermore, at the old court 45 years ago, in successive years I attended the retirement parties respectively of the stipendiary magistrates Paul Bennett VC and Clyde Wilson, where caviare was served.
Beat that, Ms Connolly.
