CPS drive dogged by controversy
The Crown Prosecution Service's recent recruitment campaign has been the cause of several letters to the Gazette, with correspondents complaining about the advertisements' obtuse nature and, more to the point, about the exceptionally rosy view they give of life in the service.
But what do we know? Recruitment company Capita RAS, working with JWT Specialised Communications, has just won an award for best campaign of the year at the annual recruitment advertising awards.
The judging panel described the campaign - which focused on flexible working opportunities - as 'a breath of fresh air in a very difficult marketplace and contrasts strongly against other advertisements in its field'.
The year-long campaign exceeded its target of recruiting 70 Crown prosecutors at both senior and junior levels, which does not sound all that many for the presumably considerable (but undisclosed) expenditure, but once again, what do we know?
