The ubiquitous Ronnie Fox, senior partner of City-based employment law specialists Fox Williams, was beaming last week as he welcomed guests to a reception at the firm's gleaming new offices in Dominion Street.

There was certainly a whiff of success about the place and one interesting design feature that other practices might like to consider as an aid to busy lawyers - colour-coded floors.

No longer is the harassed (or simply thick) solicitor in danger of making a potentially embarrassing professional mistake by getting out of the lift at the wrong level.

Clear colour differences in carpeting, walls and even furniture, ensure all staff can find - and know - their places.
