Dangerous liaisons

The legal ramifications of the 11 September terrorist attacks drag on, but one man has found himself on the end of a rather unfortunate action.

According to Family Affairs, the journal of the Family Bar Association, the first divorce directly related to the attacks has been filed in New York.

The man involved apparently had an office on the 103rd floor of one of the World Trade Centre towers, but spent the fateful morning at his girlfriend's house with his mobile switched off.

They were also far too engaged to have the television on.

So when he turned his mobile back on, it rang immediately with a call from his hysterical wife saying: 'Are you all right? Where are you?' To which he replied: 'What do you mean? I'm in the office, of course.'
