Davies Lavery in informal link-up with Brachers

Specialist defendant insurance firm Davies Lavery has entered into an informal link-up with London commercial firm Brachers.

Brachers' corporate partners Stuart Butler-Gallie and Matt Newman are moving to Davies Lavery next month with a team of four solicitors.

Davies Lavery has offices in Birmingham, London and Kent.

As a result, the two firms will have a number of mutual clients and they have decided to continue working for them in a reciprocal arrangement.

Although both firms remain fully independent of each other, they will refer clients whose needs they cannot meet to each other.

Davies Lavery's marketing manager Michelle Brookes said: 'Our firm's specialty is insurance, and Brachers' is debt recovery and private client - if the opportunity arises and a client needs advice on a certain issue, we will refer them to Brachers.'

Although stressing that the two firms had no intention to merge or form a formal alliance, Brachers managing partner Geoffrey Dearing said: 'Both firms see opportunities arising from these discussions - each will be strengthened by the changes and our clients will benefit from the wider variety of services to be offered.'
