A wider range of people will be eligible to become judges under a draft Tribunals, Courts and Enforcement Bill published by the Department for Constitutional Affairs (DCA) this week. The Bill will revise the minimum eligibility requirements for appointment to judicial office to be extended beyond barristers and solicitors to holders of other relevant qualifications, including legal executives. It also includes a statutory framework for tribunals and measures to help creditors with claims in the civil court enforce their judgments.
