Most luxurious deal: City firm SJ Berwin advised residential developers Londonewcastle and Oakmayne Properties on the acquisition of Embassy Court, a seven-storey block in St John's Wood, London, for £24 million. The developers plan to build a £70 million residential scheme with 25 luxury flats. City firm GSC acted for the vendor, Investment & Securities Trust.
Standard-setting deal: Guildford firm Stevens & Bolton has advised BSI Group, the national standards body, on the sale of its Inspectorate business to Inspicio for £52 million. Inspectorate inspects and tests commodities to help facilitate international US/UK firm trade. The London office of Mayer Brown Rowe & Maw acted for Inspicio.
Most treasured deal: Marlow firm Moorcrofts advised Richmond Software and its majority shareholder Charles Palmer on the sale of its treasury management software business to Trema UK for an undisclosed sum. Manches' Oxford office advised Trema, a Netherlands-based software provider.
Most durable deal: City firm mhlaw acted for environmental science business Accsys Technologies on its admission to the Alternative Investment Market and an £18 million placing. Accsys owns the rights to a process, called acetylation, that makes softwoods and non-durable hardwoods much tougher. London firm Lawrence Graham acted for the nominated adviser and broker, Collins Stewart.
Most spacious deal: City firm Ashurst advised the Canada-based Inter Pipeline Fund on the acquisition of Simon Storage, the UK's largest independent petroleum and petrochemical storage business, for £120 million. City firm Taylor Wessing advised the vendor Siena Cayman, while Bristol-based Osborne Clarke acted for the Royal Bank of Scotland as outgoing lender to Simon Storage.
Most gripping deal: London firm Forsters advised Insight Investment on the purchase of a new warehouse site in Barton, Staffordshire, which is pre-let to tyre-maker Pirelli and has an end value of £23 million. The Manchester office of Beachcroft Wansbroughs acted for Pirelli, while Birmingham's Wragge & Co acted for the developers of the site, ProLogis and St Modwen.
