Sweetest deal: London firm Howard Kennedy advised Wellness Foods on the acquisition of Rowse Honey, the independent UK branded honey distributor, for an undisclosed sum. London firm Manches advised the sellers.
Most productive deal: City firm Linklaters is advising Sual Group on its proposed merger with Rusal and the aluminium assets of Swiss commodities trader Glencore International. The deal will create the world's largest aluminium producer. A separate Linklaters team advised Glencore, while City firm Ashurst and Russian firm Egorov Puginsky Afanasiev & Partners acted for Rusal.
Crowning deal: City firm Trowers & Hamlins advised The Crown Estate on its £23 million purchase of a 58-apartment residential development on the South Bank in London. Developer Crest Nicholson, advised by City firm Davies Arnold Cooper, will complete the project before handing it over to The Crown Estate.
Most thoughtful deal: St Albans firm Sherrards advised the shareholders of estate agency software company Vebra, owner of the www.thinkproperty.com Web site, on its sale to the Trader Media Group (TMG) for an undisclosed sum. Reading firm Boyes Turner acted for TMG, which is part of the Guardian Media Group.
Most uplifting deal: City firm Norton Rose advised Aer Lingus on the UK aspects of its admission to the Irish Stock Exchange and the London Stock Exchange. The market capitalisation was ¤1.3 billion (£878 million). Arthur Cox and Davis Polk & Wardwell acted for the airline on the Irish and US aspects of the deal respectively. City firm Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer acted as UK and US adviser to the Minister of Finance of Ireland, with William Fry advising on the Irish side. The London office of US firm Shearman & Sterling and Irish firm McCann FitzGerald advised the joint global co-ordinators AIB Capital Markets and UBS.
