Tastiest deal: The London office of US firm Dechert led a team advising Ebro Puleva, the Spanish multinational food group, on its $361 million (£196 million) acquisition of New World Pasta, north America's largest dry pasta manufacturer. US firm Skadden Arps Slate Meagher & Flom advised New World Pasta.
Juiciest deal: Surrey firm Stevens & Bolton advised branded juice bar company Lovejuice on a £2.3 million investment by Norwegian private equity house Smedvig Capital. Lovejuice has outlets in Manchester, Gatwick and Stansted airports as well as a number of leading shopping centres. US firm Weil Gotshal & Manges advised Smedvig Capital.
Most tigerish deal: Media and entertainment firm Harbottle & Lewis advised the shareholders of Tiger Aspect, the London-based independent television production company, on its sale to IMG Media for an undisclosed sum. Tiger Aspect's productions include 'The Catherine Tate Show'. City firm Macfarlanes advised IMG.
Landmark deal: City firm Herbert Smith advised Schroders and Stanhope on securing a grant of planning permission for the Croydon Gateway project in south London. The scheme, which will be designed by Foster and Partners, involves the redevelopment of a ten-acre site next to East Croydon station. Birmingham and London firm Wragge & Co advised Croydon Council.
Most electronic deal: Bristol firm TLT advised the shareholders of electronic information exchange business xit2 on its sale to MacDonald Dettwiler & Associates (MDA) for £12.5 million. Xit2's products Valuation Exchange and Repossession Exchange allow the storage and distribution of house price-related information to the likes of surveyors, lenders and solicitors. The London office of Eversheds advised MDA.
Handiest deal: London firm Howard Kennedy advised Cartier Investments on its sale of film production business Handmade to Equator Group and the enlarged group's re-admission to the Alternative Investment Market. Handmade's films include 'Life of Brian', 'Mona Lisa' and 'Withnail and I'. City firm Field Fisher Waterhouse advised Equator, while Charles Russell advised broker Canaccord Adams.
