Best shopping deal: London firm Forsters represented the Anglo Parkwood Accrington Limited Partnership on the 28 million acquisition of the freehold interest of the 150,000 sq ft retail development that is the Arndale centre, Accrington, with a rent roll of 2.1 million.

Fellow London firm Kanter Jules acted for the sellers, REIT Asset Management.

Most zipped-up deal: Birmingham firm Shakespeares acted for fastener tooling specialists the UK Dies Group on its acquisition of SMF Cold Forming Tools from its Dutch parent company, Nedschroef, which was represented by London firm Jeffrey Green Russell.

Most oriental deal: City firm Fox Williams acted for Dulwich College in setting up its first franchise school in Shanghai, China.

It drafted the franchise agreement between Dulwich College Enterprises and its Hong Kong-based partner, Global Education Management, which was represented by the Shanghai office of US firm Altheimer and Gray.

Most revved-up deal: London and home counties firm Kidd Rapinet represented Infinity Motorcycles in its purchase of five retail outlets and stock of Riossi Motorcycles.

DLA in Leeds acted for Riossi on the 2 million deal, which elevates Infinity to one of the largest motorcycle dealers in the UK.

Most on-line deal: City firm Goldberg Linde and US firm Fulbright & Jaworski acted for Espotting Media on its $161 million (100 million) merger with Internet marketing services provider FindWhat.com, advised by US firms Baker & McKenzie and Porter Wright Morris & Arthur.

Most musical deal: Home counties firm IBB acted for the Trinity College of Music on its recent purchase of Blackheath Halls, London's oldest existing concert venue.

London firms Bates Wells & Braithwaite and Gordon Dadds acted for Blackheath Halls.

Breeziest deal: City firm Denton Wilde Sapte advised Japanese air conditioning manufacturer Daikin on the acquisition of two UK air conditioning firms for an undisclosed amount.

Cooling Services was advised by Wigan firm Vincent & Co, while Pillinger Air was represented by Surrey firm Mundays.

Most media-friendly deal: City firm Richard Butler advised Deluxe Global Media Services in its 34 million acquisition of Disctronics, one of the largest DVD and CD replicators in Europe.

Macfarlanes represented Disctronics.

Easiest deal: City firm Norton Rose advised Hoare Govett on its recent placing of 36 million ordinary shares in Internet services provider Easynet Group on behalf of Marconi.

The deal raised 40 million for Marconi, which was advised by Allen & Overy.

Most sporting deal: Liverpool firm Hill Dickinson represented footballer Harry Kewell on his recent 5 million transfer to Liverpool from Leeds, advised by local firm McCormicks.
