Most choclatey deal: London firm Farrer & Co acted for the sellers of organic chocolate brand Green & Black's to Cadbury Schweppes for an undisclosed sum. Magic circle firm Slaughter and May acted for the purchaser.

Cleanest-smelling deal: South-west firm Foot Anstey Sargent acted for Invensys on the sale of its subsidiary Vapour Management Systems (VMS) for an undisclosed sum. VMS manufactures air and water filtration products used in the airlines industry. Surrey firm Pinfold & Co advised the purchaser, Mast Carbon, while the London office of Osborne Clarke acted for Invensys on property matters.


Most secure deal: US firm Jones Day acted for Diebold on its acquisition of TASC Security, the electronic security enterprise systems and integration group, for an undisclosed sum. TASC - a specialist in alarms, closed-circuit television and video surveillance - was advised by Northampton-based Howes Percival.


Fittest deal: City firm Berwin Leighton Paisner advised LA Fitness on a £90 million offer from MOP Acquisitions, a company controlled by private equity firm MidOcean and senior management at LA Fitness. City giant Linklaters advised MOP, while Norton Rose acted for the management.


Most fashionable deal: The London office of US firm Steptoe & Johnson acted for Sun Capital Partners, the 180 Group, and Emerisque Capital on the £30.5 million acquisition of the Lee Cooper jeanswear group from Matalan. Regional firm Cobbetts advised Matalan, while national firm Eversheds acted for Lee Cooper's management.


Most lastminute deal: City law firm Herbert Smith advised lastminute.com, the on-line travel services company, on a recommended £577 million bid by Sabre Holdings, the owner of Travelocity. Slaughter and May acted for Sabre.


Roll of the dice deal: Regional firm Bond Pearce acted for Gaming Corporation on its $20 million (£11 million) acquisition of Jersey-based Newbold Enterprises, owner of the Gambling.com betting portal. The sellers were advised by London firm Fladgate Fielder and the London office of DLA Piper Rudnick Gray Cary.
