Smuttiest deal: Withers acted for JBP Holdings and majority shareholder John Brown on the 6.4 million sale of the men's division of John Brown Publishing, which publishes titles including Viz, Bizarre and Fortean Times.
Purchaser I Feel Good Holdings was represented by Norton Rose.
Tastiest deal: CMS Cameron McKenna acted for the Sara Lee Corporation for the first time in the disposal of its UK bakery business for an undisclosed sum.
Dublin-based Hibernia Foods, advised by DLA, bought the Yorkshire-based business, which has annual sales of 50 million.
Flightiest deal: Ashurst Morris Crisp acted for the management team of budget airline Go-Fly on its 110 million management buy-out from British Airways, advised by Slaughter and May.
The funding was arranged by 3i, advised by Macfarlanes.
Most leather-clad deal: Penningtons acted for the shareholders of SC Hill, known as Datatool, the UK's leading motorcycle security manufacturer, on its acquisition by Toad, worth up to 3 million.
Gouldens advised Toad.Speediest deal: Lewis Silkin acted for the shareholders of travel IT company Rapid Travel Solutions on its sale to Telewest, advised by Wiggin & Co.
London firm Ward Benger provided Rapid Travel with tax advice.
The value of the deal is said to be 5-10 million.Most audible deal: Rosenblatt acted for The Wireless Group on its 25.5 million sale of Scot FM to Guardian Media Group, advised by Davenport Lyons.Most historical deal: Sprecher Grier Halberstam acted for Historical Collections Group on the 5 million disposal of its 74 Past Times shops and mail order business, which went into administration last month.
Beachcroft Wansbroughs acted for the purchaser, The Accelerator Group, of the 60 million-turnover business.
The deal was done in three days.Most landmark deal: Herbert Smith acted for the London Stock Exchange on its lease agreement for new headquarters in thePaternoster development by St Paul's Cathedral.
The exchange will move in 2004 at an initial annual rent of 12.5 million, and is looking to dispose of Exchange Tower.
Nabarro Nathanson acted for the developer, Paternoster Associates.
Oiliest deal: Thring Townsend acted for Watson Petroleum on the purchase for an undisclosed sum of Brobot Petroleum in Lincolnshire - advised by Leicestershire firm Peter W Marsh & Co - and Hallam Petroleum in Lancashire, advised by Bury practice Graham Leigh Pfeffer & Co.
