Most musical deal: City firm Taylor Wessing advised The Music Group on its 37 million euro (£25 million) sale of leading clarinet brand Buffet Crampon to French private equity house Argos Soditic. Mayer Brown Rowe & Maw acted for the purchaser.
Emergency deal: National firm Pinsent Masons acted for computer games developer DC Studios on its acquisition of certain assets and the licence of rights to develop the 'State of Emergency 2' game. Scottish firm Shepherd & Wedderburn advised Tenon, the administrator of VIS Entertainment and SOE Development, which developed the title.
Most luxurious deal: UK/US firm DLA Piper Rudnick Gray Cary advised Alternative Investment Market (AIM) listed Accident Exchange Group (AEG) on a £7.7 million fundraising. AEG provides replacement cars to motorists involved in accidents and caters for customers of luxury brand dealers such as Audi, BMW, Jaguar and Mercedes Benz. Berwin Leighton Paisner advised broker Numis Securities.
Foodie deal: Bristol firm Burges Salmon advised FishWorks, the Bath-based restaurant and fishmongers group, on its transition from OFEX to AIM and a £4.4 million fundraising. National firm Eversheds advised broker Arden Partners and nominated adviser Smith & Williamson Corporate Finance.
Most powerful deal: London firm Nellen advised the sellers of The Cornwall Light & Power Co, the owner and operator of the Goonhilly Downs Wind Farm on the Lizard Peninsula in Cornwall, on its disposal to Renewable Energy Generation, advised by national firm Hammonds.
Most athletic deal: South-east firm Vertex Law advised Premier League football club and AIM-quoted Charlton Athletic on its £5.5 million placing. Some of the money will be used to strengthen the team.
