Most regenerative deal: City firm Norton Rose is acting for CGI, Germany’s largest property fund, on its funding of a shopping centre at Victoria Square, Belfast. The retail-led, mixed-use scheme is expected to have an estimated end value in excess of £300 million. City firm Travers Smith Braithwaite acted for the developer, AM NV, one of Holland’s largest developers. City firm Berwin Leighton Paisner advised the development agency in Northern Ireland, the Department for Social Development.
Most heartfelt deal: Derby firm Flint Bishop & Barnett advised pharmacy group Harts Chemist on its third acquisition in ten years, the acquisition of JH Hurst (Chemists) in Ripley for an undisclosed sum. BRM Solicitors in Chesterfield advised the vendor.
Best-maintained deal: The Liverpool office of Hill Dickinson acted for FLS Industries on the £100 million disposal of FLS Aerospace, Europe’s largest independent airline maintenance provider, to Swiss-based SR Technics (SRT). Baker & McKenzie’s London office advised SRT.
Most accommodating deal: City firm Nicholson Graham & Jones acted for Anglo Irish Bank Corporation on one of its largest facilities of 2004, a sterling term loan facility to the Somerston Hotel Group. Scottish firm Tods Murray acted for Anglo Irish on the Scottish aspects of the transaction, while City firm Clifford Chance advised Somerston.
