Sportiest deal: City firm Travers Smith advised West Ham United on a partnership agreement with XL Leisure, which will see the holiday company become the club's official sponsor. XL was advised by US firm Dechert.
Most comfortable deal: Lancashire firm Napthens advised Jane McIntyre on the multi-million pound sale of the Stanwell House Hotel in Lymington, Hampshire, to MCJ Hotels. Hampshire firm Coffin Mew advised the buyer.
Most constructive deal: City firm Trowers & Hamlins advised the London Borough of Lewisham on a £250 million housing private finance initiative project involving the refurbishment and maintenance of 1,900 homes. City firms Denton Wilde Sapte and Norton Rose acted for construction company Regenter B3 and funder Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation respectively.
Windiest deal: National firm Hammonds advised private equity firm Englefield Capital on the sale of its stake in Zephyr Investments, owner of the largest portfolio of wind farms in the UK, for an undisclosed sum. City giant Clifford Chance advised infrastructure fund Infracapital Partners, while Allen & Overy acted for JP Morgan Asset Management. Each bought 50% of Englefield's investment.
Most innovative deal: UK/US firm Mayer Brown Rowe & Maw advised Numis Securities and Cowen International on the AIM initial public offering of AOI Medical and an £8 million placing. AOI Medical is a medical device company that focuses on the innovation of orthopaedic medical devices for the spine and trauma markets. City firm Taylor Wessing advised AOI.
Most soaring deal: Travers Smith advised management on the buy-out of Oxford Aviation's training business, which has been sold by BVA Aviation to GCAT Flight Academy for £32 million. Norton Rose advised GCAT, while fellow City firm Slaughter and May acted for BVA Aviation.
Most wooden deal: Dudley-based Hawkins Hatton advised Severn Timber Products on its sale to Sweden's SCA for an undisclosed sum. Clifford Chance acted for SCA.
