Drumming up support

Record companies in Reading were kicking themselves recently when they opened the latest issue of their local paper, the Reading Chronicle.

Destined for future stardom was Richard O'Hagan, drummer with newly signed band Mead, the paper reported.

The Chronicle only realised the error of its ways when Mr O'Hagan's surprised fellow partners at local law firm Rowberry Morris wrote a letter to the editor, Obiter learns.

'Richard is one of Reading's leading media and entertainment lawyers, and he advised Mead when they signed their recording contract,' the firm pointed out.

The motive behind the letter? 'We do not wish Richard's current and future clients to believe he is deserting them for a life of rock and roll hedonism,' the firm explained.

Oh, well, Richard.

Back to playing air guitar on a tennis racket between clients then.
