Abuse of e-mail systems features regularly in the Gazette and in the media as well, particularly if there is a racy or sexual element to the content (see [2004] Gazette, 19 February, 11).
These continuing revelations make me wonder whether solicitors' firms are staffed by juveniles (love sick or otherwise) who appear not only to have time on their hands, but are deluded into thinking that their behaviour is the ultimate in sophistication.
The use of e-mails for professional communications is readily understandable and has advanced professional development, but for what possible reason do people feel the urge to send private internal e-mails or external e-mails, to their friends and lovers.
A solution to the problem? May I suggest that a great devotion to work and a willingness to conduct their social and love lives in their own time, on their own premises, and at their own expense.
