Egg-static verdict
A Hong Kong man has been jailed for 15 days after throwing eggs in the Law Society of Hong Kong's offices.
And quite right too, we might add.
Leung Chiu-ming was found guilty of behaving in a disorderly manner in a public place on two occasions; however, he was sufficiently polite to ask staff to move out of the way before he started chucking his missiles.
The South China Morning Post reported that the judge said Mr Leung, a former spokesman for the China Properties Problem Association, had to be jailed because he showed no remorse for his actions, which were a protest against what he claimed was the law society's shielding of lawyers who had misrepresented the buyers of flats.
However, the court refused the society an order for Mr Leung to shell out around 500 for the cost of cleaning up the eggs.
Mr Leung is now poised to appeal, but Obiter - which is in no way influenced by officials at Chancery Lane - is obliged to point out that prison is too good for such an evil criminal.
