Eversheds takes special interest in local government
City firm Eversheds has signed up to a ground-breaking sponsorship package with local government lawyers in Yorkshire and Humberside.
The year-long sponsorship with the local branch of the Law Society's Local Government Group is for its special interest group on commercial law.
The arrangement allows the group to meet in Eversheds' Leeds office, while the firm will support the production of reports and other papers, together with hospitality.
The parties have also agreed to consider the joint publication of reports and documentation on relevant aspects of local government commercial law as appropriate.
The recently re-launched special interest group has created an on-line community for its members, which Eversheds will also help with.
Group convenor Ibrahim Hasan, who is principal solicitor at Calderdale Council, said: 'The group's presence on the Web together with regular meetings means that local government commercial lawyers will be able to network more effectively than before.
Having Eversheds' support will enable us to attract even more members.'
