I was gratified to see my smiling face in your report on the Young Solicitors Group ball (see [2006] Gazette, 2 March, 12). But I must take issue with your anonymous informant's description of the event, which does not accord with others' recollection of a splendidly organised and enjoyable evening. The event benefited the Institute of Cancer Research, and young solicitors mixed with colleagues of all ages, as well as friends from within and outside the profession.
