A Horsham-based law firm has settled its High Court proceedings against insurance giant Norwich Union.
Reeds - formerly LawLine Solicitors - launched the action against the insurer for breach of contract after it claimed that referrals to the firm dried up one year into a five-year contract. A witness statement by the firm's senior partner Chantal Reed also claimed that the insurer and its subsidiaries were earning two-thirds of the law firm's fees in return for referring cases (see [2005] Gazette, 24 March, 3).
A statement by Reeds and Norwich Union read: 'Norwich Union and Reeds Solicitors have reached agreement regarding their contractual dispute. Both parties are pleased that the matter could be resolved.'
