Birmingham firms Putsmans and Shakespeares are in talks about a merger that would create a 50-partner, £20 million-turnover practice. Paul Wilson of Putsmans will be the chief executive should the deal go ahead in April 2007, with key roles also handed to Putsmans chairman Terry Lipscombe and Shakespeares senior partner Mike Hibbs.
