As an Irishman educated in Scotland and working in England who has done a spot of fishing, I feel compelled to comment on your article 'Getting hooked on a relaxing sport' (see [2004] Gazette, 16 April, 24)
The article states that Peter Stevens 'travels to Scotland once a year to fish in hill locks in the wild Scottish countryside'.
Now while I am not familiar with the Scottish canal system, I do have a notion that you meant lochs rather than locks.
Not of course to be confused with loughs.
