Banking brief: London firm Grundberg Mocatta Rakison was appointed as primary outside counsel to Icelandic bank Glitnir Banki to assist with the winding down of Glitnir’s operations outside Iceland and defend actions bought by creditors outside Iceland. It’s a gas: City firm Watson, Farley & Williams advised oil and gas investment company New Age (Global African Energy) on entering into three Ethiopian production-sharing agreements with Lundin Petroleum, the Swedish oil and gas exploration and production company, worth around $10m (£6.8m). Buy to let: North-west firm DWF advised Bibby Holdings, a division of Liverpool based marine, distribution and financial services company Bibby Line Group, on its £20m acquisition of plant and equipment hire company Garic. Manchester firm George Davies advised Garic.

Fresh funds: Magic circle firm Freshfields advised investment companies BH Macro and BH Global on their secondary listings on the Dubai International Financial Exchange. Operated by asset management company Brevan Howard, they are believed to be the first investment funds to be listed on the Dubai exchange.

Management buyout: Manchester firm Pannone advised Kin-Tec Holdings on its management buyout of oil and gas industry recruitment consultancy Kinetic Technical, for an undisclosed sum. North-west firm Brabners Chaffe Street advised Kinetic.

Deal in motion: City firm Taylor Wessing advised specialist manufacturing company Esterline Technologies Corporation on the sale of its subsidiary Muirhead Aerospace, the motion technology developer, to Ametek, the electronic device manufacturer. City firm CMS Cameron McKenna advised Ametek.
