Stephen Friday, a partner at London firm Percy Short & Cuthbert, took over as chairman of the Black Solicitors Network this week. Mr Friday said the group's priorities would be making sure the interests of black solicitors were represented in relation to the Legal Services Bill and the Carter review of legal aid procurement. He said: 'We will be continuing to use our contacts within government to make our voices heard. We will prepare our members for the changes ahead.' Mr Friday replaces former chairwoman Yvonne Brown, who co-founded the group in 1995.
