Gadd to be of help
Drunk on the success of its tenth birthday party, which we featured on this page the other week, Sussex firm Smith Gadd & Co has further informed us that it plans to step up its policy of supporting local initiatives by adding the Heron Way Under-nines football team to its list of sponsorships.
These also include the Roffey Robins Under-13s football team, the efforts of local woman Juliette Docking and her dog Millie to win at Crufts, and the Horsham Amateur Operatic and Dramatic Society.
All well and good before one digs a little deeper into this impressive display of altruism, however.
Star striker on the Heron Way team is one Oliver Gadd, son of partner Stephen.
Miles Smith, son of partner Nigel, happens to turn out for Roffey Robins, while Juliette Docking is not unrelated to partner Paul Docking (she's his sister).
But at least there's the Horsham society.
Alas, no.
Mr Gadd senior, we are told, has been known to tread the boards there, too.
