Tom Jones is right about the need for trade unionists to make full use of their union legal services (see [2005] Gazette, 28 April, 14), but he appears to lose sight of the fact that trade union members form a relatively small proportion of the national workforce.
With the demise of legal aid, those workers without such access have the right of access to experienced solicitors, and that access can be gained through well regulated and monitored claims companies.
