Government whitewash
How reassuring it is to know that the Lord Chancellor's Department has its finger on the pulse.
Witness the list of law firm consultees published with the bumf for the 2003 silk round, which, after some prompting from the Gazette, the LCD this week admitted was not entirely correct.
Both Hammond Suddards and Hammond Suddards Edge are to get the call, as are Lovell White Durrant (or Lovells, as it has been called for a good couple of years), Hugh James Ford Simey (now sadly demerged into two firms), Wragg & Co (sic) and Pinsent Curtis (which may come as a blow to those in the Biddle part of Pinsent Curtis Biddle).
However, most curious of all is a firm called Whitewalls, which Obiter can find no reference to.
Maybe this is just a sign of how seriously the LCD takes comments from solicitors.
