Hair today, gone tomorrow

Lord Woolf, we believe, has made yet another decisive statement in the ongoing fight over wigs (the legal profession's equivalent of the fox-hunting debate, perhaps?).

In judging the bar national mock trial competition, organised by the Citizenship Foundation and Bar Council, the Lord Chief Justice was notable among his fellow arbiters in going without wig or gown; more power to his elbow, we say.

Meanwhile, the competition also showed the downside of being a child of Tony and Cherie Blair.

Cherie, we are told, took two of her children and some of their friends along to 'cheer on' the finalists.

What a great day out they must have had.

Those Blairs sure know how to have a good time.
