Portsmouth-based Larcomes Solicitors has acquired a family law practice expanding its reach in Hampshire.

Larcomes, founded more than 100 years ago, announced it has acquired the younger Children’s Legal Practice, set up in 2004 by Kirti Patel. The firm provides legal advice to clients across the south, including in Hampshire, West Sussex, Dorset and the Isle of Wight.

The acquisition, Larcomes said, would ‘strengthen’ its presence in the south and ‘enhance the firm’s capacity to serve clients navigating complex family law issues’. The Children’s Legal Practice focus on family law matters and an expertise in care proceedings and child arrangements disputes.

Patel and The Children’s Legal Practice team of support staff will join Larcomes. She said: ‘After many successful and rewarding years of helping families through the Children’s Legal Practice, now is the right time to take our offering to the next level. Larcomes’ commitment to client care, high-quality advice and the local community mirrors our own values and approach, and we are thrilled to be joining forces.’

Richard Hopgood, managing director of Larcomes, said the firm was ‘thrilled’. He added: ‘Kirti and her team’s knowledge and experience perfectly complement our already outstanding offering in this area and ensures we can continue to build on our excellent reputation.

‘The acquisition further bolsters Larcomes’ presence in the southeast of England. The firm now has offices in Portsmouth, Waterlooville and Fareham, providing legal advice to the local community in Hampshire and across the wider UK.’
