Head for heights

Reading firm Blandy & Blandy may have - quite literally - one of the less exciting names in the legal world, but its family department is staffed by some pretty fearsome sorts.

We were last week sent this picture of family lawyer Richard Dyke to mark a parachute jump undertaken by him and three other lawyers at the firm in aid of Cancer Research UK.

Mr Dyke, we understand, learned to become a caring, touchy-feely sort while, erm, serving in the Australian Army, and the head of the department, Andrew Don, was formerly with the UK parachute regiment.

Rumours that the firm's lawyers are all armed as a matter of course are, while not totally unbelievable in the world of family law, strongly denied.
