Help for legal love
Lawyers may soon be able to find love on the Web thanks to an Internet-based introduction agency set up by two legal executives at Birmingham law firm Dass Jakhu.
Phoenix Temple, which launches on 8 April, is aimed at 'busy professionals who are married to their job', according to its co-founder Cassandra Moore.
Ms Moore devised the idea with her colleague Emma Price after realising that many successful professionals at the firm and elsewhere were finding it difficult to meet new people.
'When you work long hours and you don't get the chance to socialise as much as you'd like, then it is often difficult to meet new people,' said Ms Moore.
'With this site, we monitor the members closely to ensure that they are the sort of people that we want to attract.'
The site is aimed at lawyers and other professionals older than 25, who enter their personal details on the site, specify what they are looking for in a partner, and then make a choice from the potential partners produced by the site's search engine.
Members can also access the site's chat zone, on-line advice and news, and plans are afoot eventually to stage social gatherings for members.
Although members will have to pay a subscription fee, the site is offering a free trial period for users.
